Anatomy in Motion

Pregnancy is a transformative journey that brings immeasurable joy, but it also introduces significant changes to a woman's body, impacting both structure and gait. Postpartum recovery becomes a paramount concern, and that's where the innovative Anatomy in Motion (AiM) method emerges as a beacon of hope and healing.

Understanding Anatomy in Motion

Anatomy in Motion is an advanced form of movement and gait analysis that goes beyond conventional rehabilitation methods. Developed by Gary Ward, AiM focuses on understanding the intricate relationship between movement patterns, structural alignment, and the overall functionality of the body. This method operates on the principle that optimal movement is key to resolving pain, preventing injuries, and restoring balance.

Tailored Approach for Postpartum Women

Postpartum recovery demands a tailored approach, considering the unique challenges that arise from the physical changes experienced during pregnancy and childbirth. AiM, with its precision and adaptability, proves to be an invaluable tool for correcting structural imbalances and addressing gait irregularities in postpartum women.

Key Advantages for Postpartum Recovery

Gentle Correction: One of the standout advantages of AiM is its gentle approach to correction. Postpartum bodies need careful attention, and AiM provides a non-invasive and progressive method to address misalignments without causing additional stress.

Comprehensive Analysis: AiM's methodology involves a comprehensive analysis of how the body moves. This depth of understanding allows therapists to identify not only the symptoms but also the root causes of postpartum discomfort, enabling a more targeted and effective approach to correction.

Integration with Traditional Chinese Medicine: When combined with Traditional Chinese Medicine/Tungs  Orthodox Acupuncture , as practiced by therapists like Paul O’Regan & Martin Quinn at Aim to Recover Health Centre, AiM becomes part of a holistic approach to postpartum recovery. This integration enhances the overall effectiveness of the therapy, addressing not just the physical but also the energetic aspects of vitality and well-being.

Customised Treatment Plans: No two postpartum journeys are the same. AiM excels in creating customised treatment plans tailored to the individual needs of postpartum women. This personalised approach ensures that each session is focused on the specific challenges and goals of the individual.

Faster Recovery: By addressing the root causes of discomfort and misalignment, AiM facilitates a faster and more sustainable recovery for postpartum women. The method aims not only to relieve immediate symptoms but also to empower women with the tools to maintain optimal well-being in the long run.

In conclusion, the Anatomy in Motion method stands as a revolutionary approach to postpartum recovery, offering a pathway to correct structural imbalances and optimise gait. When applied by skilled therapists in conjunction with Traditional Chinese Medicine & Tungs Orthodox Acupuncture , it becomes a powerful tool for restoring balance, enhancing comfort, and promoting the overall well-being of postpartum women. At Aim to Recover Health Centre, we are proud to offer this cutting-edge methodology as part of our commitment to empowering women on their journey to renewed health and vitality.

Anthony claffey

Anthony is a holistic physio and cranial sacral therapist, an Anatomy in Motion instructor, and a curious human.

Anthony entered the realm of bodywork driven by a personal quest to address his own physical challenges. Struggling since the age of 12, he found himself unable to kneel and had to cease playing sports due to deteriorating knee conditions, eventually undergoing three knee operations. Despite a decade of pain and frustration, he realised that he had been attempting to force changes in his body without truly understanding its needs.

Through the self-assessment component of Anatomy in Motion, Anthony discovered a new way to connect with anatomy, emphasising a gentle approach that eschews force in favour of attentiveness to the body's natural processes. This transformative experience heightened his self-awareness significantly. Utilising the Flow Motion Model, a walking-based body movement map, he exceeded his expectations in resolving his physical issues.

Anthony's inherent abstract thinking and problem-solving skills define his nature. His true proficiency lies in his investigative abilities, allowing him to identify overlooked, untreated, and ignored aspects of the body. Through his work, he assists others in liberating themselves from pain, achieving greater alignment, and experiencing a genuine sense of freedom within their bodies.
