Antenatal Care

Antenatal care, or prenatal care, is the healthcare provided to pregnant women before childbirth. It involves regular check-ups, screenings, and education to monitor and promote the well-being of the mother and foetus. Healthcare professionals conduct tests to identify and manage potential complications, while also offering guidance on nutrition and lifestyle. These visits help address concerns, support emotional well-being, and prepare parents for childbirth. Antenatal care is essential for a safe and healthy pregnancy, reducing risks and ensuring positive outcomes for both the mother and baby.

Services during antenatal clinic

In setting up a private midwifery clinic, Aleanbh aims to extend her midwifery services beyond a homebirth setting.

Women may choose to attend one appointment, or several. They do not need to be planning a homebirth and can be low- or high- risk.

Aleanbh aims to empower women by providing evidence based care and information so that they can make informed decisions about their care.

Women may wish to attend if:

They want help understanding/ navigating the hospital policies.

They want to understand their plan of care, set by the hospital.

They want to set out their birth preferences.

They want to have an open discussion about concerns that they have, and how to manage/overcome them.
They want discuss birth options ( vaginal birth/ c-section)

They want discuss pain relief management

They want discuss birth preparation - winner flow and demonstration

.… And so much more
